Princess Birthday Theme Party
Step 1 Magical Invitations
A Simple yet fun way to make a Princess Birthday Theme invitation is to make a scroll. You can either write these scroll invitations out free hand or even better, print them in "Pegasus, Old Century or Unicorn" font on light pink or purple paper. On the inside write something like "The Queen/King/Princess Welcomes You To Her/His or Her Daughters Royal Birthday Party On Thee 8th Day Of The 4th Month Of The Year " When finished simple roll up the paper into a scroll and tie a ribbon or thin silk bow around it. Or keep it together with a princess sticker or seal with the guests name or first initial on it. Gold sticker letters using the guests' first initial to seal the scroll is always a good effect.
A More Creative Way to hand out Princess Birthday Invitations is to use a purse. Girls really love this one! What you need to do first is purchase enough purses for the guests who will be attending and you can usually find stylish purses at your local dollar store so it's not too expensive. Inside the purse place a few goodies like candy lip-gloss, plastic jewelry and so on. Then on a folded 3x5 pink card write out the party details. You could also create your own purse shaped invitations.
Another way to create fun princess invites is to use a birthday card software package. These really come in handy if you're in a bind for time.
Or simply purchase magical princess invitations online without having the hassle of creating your own or running around from store to store. The invitation shown here is just one example of the fun princess invites found at Pinatas.Com. Just click on the image to see some more examples.
Step 2 Princess Birthday Theme Decorations
Start off with choosing a color scheme and choose your decorations accordingly. Usually pinks or purples are the colors of choice but sometimes gold or silver are fun colors also.
BALLOONS - Various sized balloons of the same shape is best. Tie them to the backs of chairs, hang them from the ceiling and tape them on the walls. Or helium balloons floating at different heights around the room looks good.
Streamers - You'll also want to hang up a few rolls of streamers around the room.
Centerpiece - A large sized tiara made of card stock and decorated with shiny gold/silver glitter. Or a princess castle decorated in the middle. Either a home-made box castle or as part of a birthday present you could buy a toy castle for the centerpiece.
Banners - A fun Princess Banner adds to the room.
Other decorations you may want to have around the room are toy/plastic princess mirrors, jewelry, tiaras and other princess dress items.
Step 3 Princess Birthday Party Supplies
Here you'll find some great Princess Supplies for your Princess Birthday Theme Party and you don't even need to leave your home! Think of the stress relief and money you'll save on gas by not having to drive from store to store.
Step 4 Arrival To Departure Food/Snacks & Drinks
|
You can turn carrots into wand-sticks simply by cutting the carrots down to long thin sticks, same goes for celery. With the different types of dipping sauces for the vegetables labeled with names like, "Fairy Frost or Moat Mud to add a little fun".
Cookies and cupcakes are always a big hit and frosting them in pink or purple frostings with sprinkles keeps the theme going strong. Or frost them white and add different colored sprinkles to each cookie.
Another fun cookie idea is to frost them yellow or white and add yellow/gold sprinkles and name them "The Kings Gold".
Don't forget about making or buying a treasure chest named "Princess's Private Treasures" and inside adding various types of eatable jewelry like candy rings and necklaces. Kids will get a kick out of that.
Finger foods like peanut butter and jelly sandwiches cut into fun princess shapes like stars are nice additions.
Also you don't want to forget about adding a bowl or treasure chest of fruit also. Not just your average fruit either, add kiwi, pineapples, mangos and other fun exotic fruits to the mix. Call it something like "Queen Mothers Nature Mix". Or make mini fruit skewers on toothpicks. Add 3 mini-slices of different fruit to each stick.
Jelly beans, Skittles and M&Ms of princess colors separated into bowls looks nice too. You can even buy custom colored M&Ms online from the M&M store.
Princess Party Drinks - Keeping with the "Princess Birthday Theme" you'll want drinks that are pink like pink lemonade or purple like grape juice.
Also you could try various types of fruit flavored tea and let the kids squeeze lemon slices into them or add sugar cubes.
Another fun drink is a "Princess Float" using your drink of choice add scoops of sherbet or vanilla/strawberry ice cream to it.
Step 5 Dinner/Ice Breaker Game
Pass The Present is a fun ice breaker/before dinner game and it's simple to do. First you need to place some sort of small gift/candy in a small box. Then wrap the box around 5-10 times with different kinds of wrapping paper/tissue paper/newspaper. Next get the kids to sit down around the table, this is a good game to get kids to the table in the first place. Play some Princess Music and as the music plays the present is passed from child to child. When the music stops the person holding the gift unwraps ONE layer. Then start the music again. The one holding the present when the last layer is opened keeps the present.

Step 6 Theme Dinner/Food Ideas & Desserts
|
Set the table with either a white tablecloth or princess table cover. Before the kids enter the room lie out the food and cover each item using silver or pink bowls. After the kids are sitting down take off each covering to present the food to the princess and say something like, "I present to you Royal Pizza".

Step 9 Games/Activities/Crafts
A Princess Birthday Party won't be a success if there aren't any fun games or activities!
|
A fun game to play during a Princess Birthday Party is "Diamond Digging". This game can be played inside or out and you'll need sand and a large container or plastic pool. Add the sand to the container and then hide various plastic gems within the sand. Let them use long handled silver spoons to dig in the sand and find the gems instead of hands. Make a time limit on the digging and let them dig up only a certain amount of gems. Each gem can then be exchanged for a small toy, plastic jewelry or candy. For example "diamonds" can be used to pick something from the diamond bowl, "emeralds" are used to choose things from the emerald bowl and so on.
Next you can't forget about playing dress up as a Princess. You can either have the kids wear their own princess dresses to the party or have an assortment of things for them to dress up in. For example have a jewelry box with various types of jewelry from necklaces to rings, tiaras and more. Plus some clothing items like scarves, glasses, white gloves, flower hats etc. Kids love to play dress-up and this would be a fun after dinner game. It's even more fun if you have a few long-standing full body mirrors in the room. And when finished have them model their jewelry for everyone to see like a modeling show.
Lastly, adding a colorful pinata to your list of party games will be a "BIG HIT". You can fill them with just about anything you want from mini plastic toys like jewelry to candy, stickers and much more, pinatas are a classic party game that kids tend to love.
And what better pinata to have at a Princess Birthday Theme Party than a Princess Castle Pinata. There are eight different kinds of Pinatas for a Princess birthday party found on Pinatas.Com. Including Castle Pinatas and various styles of Princess Pinatas.
Step 10 Parting Gifts/Party Favors
You can find little boxes at dollar stores and then decorate them for the look of a princess with stickers and glitter. You could even have the kids decorate their favor holders and fill them up later with goodies as they leave.
Fun favors would include things like makeup candy or fake jewelry, Princess stickers, gem rings, tiaras, wands etc.
Step 11 Thank You Cards
Creating your own Thank You Cards isn't too hard to do. You could use a cutout of a ruby slipper and write something like:
|
Creative wording related to your Princess Birthday Theme will make the cards special and if they're hand made they're even more special.
If you want to save time you can order the Princess Birthday Kit mentioned above which includes thank you cards or simply purchase the Princess Thank You Cards separately. Keeping with the theme from start to finish will make this birthday party one to remember!
