The Best UNO Games Game Instructions
Original UNO Game Play
UNO is one of those games that is both fun to play and easy to play. First timers have no problem with catching onto this game as the UNO Card Game Play is simple. Here is how it is basically played.
The UNO Card Deck comes with four different suits/colors of red, blue, green and yellow. In each suit you'll have cards that are numbered from 0-9.
There are also additional cards that make this game more exciting and fun. There is the "SKIP" card which if placed down skips the next player in turn which is good because they won't get a chance to discard and cards for one turn.
There is a "Reverse" card which reverses the direction of game play from left to right to right to left. Used strategically it can be a powerful card.
Then you'll find a "Draw Two" card which makes the person next in turn draw two additional cards. Again you can hold onto this card and use it to make someone draw two additional cards towards the end of the game.
There are also "WILD CARDS" which really come in handy. There are two types, the regular "wild" card which enables you to change the color of card play. Then there is a "Draw Four Wild Card" that not only lets you change the color of card play but also you can make someone pick up four more cards, this is probably the most powerful card in the game.
Game play is started after each player is dealt seven cards. The rest of the cards, (the draw deck) is placed in the middle. The top card of the draw deck is flipped up and then in order each player must lay down a card from their hand. Either they must lay down a matching color card OR they must lay down a card with the same number as the top card. For example if the top card is a red five then a player has the following options: 1) Lay any red colored card on top of that card including "skip & reverse" cards. 2) Lay a five of a different suit on that card. A green five, blue five or yellow five. 3) Play a wild card and change suits.
The goal is to be the first person to rid themselves of all their cards and they're the winner. There is one VERY IMPORTANT RULE! You must yell out UNO when you have one card remaining otherwise if you don't and another player notices that you didnt yell out "UNO" then you must pick up two more cards.
Many people who play this game dont keep score although you're supposed to get 500 points to win the game. You count score by adding other players remaining card face totals together. When someone reaches 500 points they're declared the winner.
The Best UNO Games Various Game Versions
UNO My 1st card Game
Recommended for ages 4-8.
My First Uno Card Game is geared towards younger children that can't keep up with the high speed of original UNO. These cards are bigger than the regular UNO and there are less cards to handle also. The concept is the same and that makes it easier for kids to adjust to original UNO too. The cool thing about these UNO games are the versions available: Koala Brothers UNO, Sesame Street UNO, Curious George UNO, Dora UNO, Rugrats UNO and other kids versions are available.
UNO Card Game Original
Recommended for ages 7 and Up.
Original UNO is the game that started it all. A FUN FAMILY GAME all year round both in winter and summer! The game can be played by as few as two people and as many as you want especially if you combine two or more decks together. Kids and adults of all ages love the original game version and it's fun to start with the version before spreading out to the more modernized versions.
UNO Attack Card Game
Recommended for ages 7 and Up.
A Great Modern Twist on the original game. In this version you have a "Command Center" in the middle of the table that has the ability to shoot out cards at random when the "Attack Button" is pushed. Basically instead of drawing cards from the middle in the original agme you push the attack button and see how many cards are shot at you. Game play is like the original but with this UNO Attack Machine you never know what will happen. If you're instructed to push the "Attack Button" you may end up with zero to 5 or even 10 cards shooting out at you. There are also new cards in this game with makes it fun like the "trade hands" card. Imagine trading hands with someone who has UNO.
UNO Spin
Recommended for ages 7 and Up.
I believe one of the best UNO games yet. Played like the original UNO card game but with a fun twist and no attack machine shooting cards at you comes "UNO Spin". When a player plays a "Spin Card" someone must spin the UNO Spin Wheel. What happens next can change the whole outcome of the game. Depending on how where the spin arrow lands you could discard cards, pick up even more cards or like UNO Attack exchange hands. A fun twist to Original Uno that the whole family will love!
UNO H2O
Recommended for ages 7 and Up.
Played the same as the original but these cards are waterproof. Great for camping trips or playing at the lake. No need to worry if one is dropped in the water of course. There is a special "Downpour" rule that adds to the fun of this H2O UNO version. All in all a great way to play UNO just about anywhere in even rainy or wet conditions.
Disney UNO Card Game
Recommended for ages 7 and Up.
Although this UNO game has a Disney Theme there is a fun element to this game that separates it from original themed versions of UNO. Again played the same but with some new cards. For example the Pixie Dust Card. When this card is played a player hits the "Tinker Bell Randomizer" button, which is located on the cards game tray. Tinker Bell's voice will come on select a color for you. There are other times when you'll use this "Tinker Bell Randomizer" button and it adds to the fun of the game. Not to mention all the cool Disney characters that show up on the cards like Woody, Donald, Snow White and many more.
Car-Go UNO
Recommended for ages 5 and Up.
An UNO Card Game for the road. Shaped like a thermos it fits most cup holders in cars. It separates into two pieces one for discards and one for the deck. These cars are of course round and smaller but game play is the same. Great for long trips on the road with kids.
UNO Blitzo Electronic Game
Recommended for ages 7 and Up.
One of the biggest twists of the original version of UNO so far because in UNO Blitzo Electronic there are "NO CARDS". The "Blitzo Electronic Game" not only deals and tracks each players cards but also calls plays. It does this for up to four players and uses a system of lights and sounds to play the game. Many fun twists in this game that many have come to love.
