Travel Games For The Car Etc.
Travel BlokusRecommended for ages – 5-12.Travel Blokus is played exactly like the Blokus table board game except for a few minor changes. For one it's made for two players instead of the normal four. Therefore the playing board is small and that makes it great for a travel game. Basically you snap in various length and width square pieces onto the playing board but they can only touch corners. Whoever places the most pieces on the game board wins. For more detailed information on this game please visit my "Most Popular Board Games" page found from the "Games" home page. If you have more than two people playing just make it a tournament or winner stays rule. Great for keeping a child's mind sharp, an engaging game and time will fly by. Zobmondo – Would You Rather? Pocket Travel Game: Classic VersionRecommended for ages 12-99.For older kids and adults Zobmondo is a great travel game for the car ride up north, down south, out east or going west down the highway. It's a game that gets everyone talking with some crazy questions starting with: "Would you rather this? Or would you rather that?". For example: Would you rather have five bottles stuck on the fingers of one hand for a year or a bucket stuck on your foot for a year? Don't bother answering "neither" because that's not allowed. There are various ways to play this game and when in teams having them agree on one answer really makes the conversation fun and engaging and passes the time. This game comes with 160 game questions in various categories. For older kids and adults this is a really fun travel game for the car! Drueke Magnetic Travel Chess SetRecommended for ages 8-99.If you and your children love chess and love to travel then this is the chess set for you. This travel chess set is one of the best. Besides the fact that it's compact, it's also a magnetic chess set, a highly magnetic chess set. When I say highly magnetic I mean the pieces won't move around when it's bumped or flipped upside down or tossed around as things usually are in the car. What's more cool is that if you need to take a break the top of this game goes on right over the pieces on the game board so you don't have to restart a game. Just take the lid off and your pieces are still stuck in the same position you left them. Again a great travel game for the car.
Battleship FolioRecommended for ages 7-99.Battleship Folio takes the all time favorite game of battleship and shrinks it down to travel size. Not only that it's in a nice zipper case/folio that actually keeps all the pegs and ships in place even if you need to zip it up for a rest stop. Also the game comes with the same number of ships and pegs so it's not a watered down version at all. Another classic game that's ready for your next vacation! The Settlers Of Catan Travel EditionRecommended for ages 12 and Up.Taking the original Catan board game and turning into a travel sized game was a no-brainer. This game in compact size is just as fun as the table game too. Played the same way as each player tries to build settlements, roads and more The Settlers Of Catan Travel Edition is a "on the road" favorite. For older children and adults this game will make the time fly and it takes a couple hours to play and there's never a dull moment. The playing pieces of this travel game snap securely into place and all the game pieces fit together into a tray in the travel sized game box. A great travel game for the car because it'll feel as if you're really playing the tabletop game and that makes it that much more enjoyable. A great thinking and engaging game for the family on vacation anywhere. If you want to know more about how this game is played please go to my "Games" homepage and select "Most Popular Board Games" you'll find out what this game is really about and some hints to playing.
Are We There Yet? Traveling GameRecommended for ages 4-99.This game basically takes the phrase "Are we there yet?" and turns it into a fun family game that's perfect on long road trips. Basically each player receives 5 cards and on each card is something that you have to find. It's a "scavenger hunt" for the car game. This game can be played alone on in teams, teams are always more fun. For example you'll see a question like: Find a convertible car. There are many other questions in this game and it will keep everyone busy and help time pass.
There are hundreds of travel games for the car but the ones mentioned above are tops in my opinion. This list will grow but by all means if you haven't tried any of the games above then give them a try on your next vacation and the whole family will have fun getting to and from your destination.
